Our wine tonight is the Texas Tempranillo from Pedernales Cellars in Stonewall, Texas.

Vintage 2016.

Pedernales River Valley.

Dark burgundy in color with a ruby red rim.

Fruity nose, expressive of chocolate covered cherries, strawberries, blackberries, and vanilla cola.

Medium bodied, nice balance, long legs.

Flavor notes of cherries, cranberries, green peppers, oak, pipe tobacco, and leather, with a mild spicy and earthy finish.

We’d easily score this wine a gold medal winner.

We aerated for 45 minutes, could use more time to breathe.

This bottle was graciously gifted us by our great friends Tom and Nancy.

This wine should age beautifully when cellared.
