Our wine tonight is the Petit Manseng from Cavender Creek Vineyards in Dahlonega, Georgia

Petit Manseng is increasingly becoming a flavored cultivar of vineyards in North Georgia.

Dahlonega Plateau AVA.

Vintage 2017.

Color of polished gold, like rays of bright sunshine.

Citrus and floral bouquet and full bodied on the palate, this is not a light white wine.

Semi-sweet with flavor notes of papaya, bananas foster, canned peaches in syrup, dandelion, honeysuckle, and sliced pears, finishing with lingering notes of wildflower honey and a grainy menerality.

13.2% ABV.

Pair with spicy Thai or Asian food.

Vineyard lies in the Blue Ridge Mountains North of Asheville at an elevation of 2500 feet.

Bright gold in color.

Aromatic bouquet of peaches, lemonade, pineapples, and mandarin oranges.

Off dry with crisp acidity.

Flavor notes of lemon curd, pineapple, mango, papaya, honeysuckle, pear, apricot, roasted almonds, and ruby grapefruit.

Vintage 2018

Winemaker Justin Taylor marveled, during the harvest of 2018, this fruit was able to take on a bronzing rarely seen on other white varietals of Western North Carolina.

Color of bright straw, shimmering.

Expressively aromatic, noticeable the moment of uncorking. Robust notes of pineapple upside down cake, mandarin orange, lemon curd, and mango.

Medium bodied, crisp acidity, and rich.

Complex on the palate with overlying tones of citrus, florals, and minerality. Honeysuckle lingers on the dry finish.

14% ABV.

Our wine tonight is the 2017 White Brix from Brix and Columns Vineyards in McGayhesville, Virginia.

Blend of 31% Chardonnel, 31% Pinot Gris, 23% Traminette, and 7% Petit Manseng.

Light lemon in color.

Floral nose with hints of lemonade, green apple, and pear.

Flavor notes of green apples, pink grapefruit, tangerines, orange creamsicle, pears, honeysuckle, bananas, cheese curds, vanilla beans, apricots, lemon and lime.

2.5% residual sugar.

12.4 % ABV.
