Our wine tonight is the Semi-Dry Peach from Boardwalk Winery in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Boardwalk Winery is located in the large shopping and entertainment complex Broadway on the Beach.

The winery offers a cornucopia of fruit wines, along with a few dry vinifera wines.

Our peach is semi-dry. A sweeter version was also available.

The nose is soft and pleasant, reminiscent of peaches in syrup. Flavor notes are true, with hints of cinnamon on the tip of the tongue. The sweetness and acidity are nicely balanced.

The label features a beautiful beach scene.

Winemaker Tim Walker is in top of his game with this offering.

Honeyed Peach – Starlight Meadery

Our wine tonight is tonight is a mead, Honeyed Peach from Starlight Meadery in Pittsboro, North Carolina.

Style of Melomel Mead.

A Melomel is a style of Mead with fruit added to enhance the flavor.

Orange-Yellow in color.

Nose more reminiscent of a peach cobbler and wildflower honey.

Serve chilled.

Semi-sweet.

Slightly effervescent.

Honey is prevalent on the tongue, the finish like biting into fresh juicy peach.

12.5% ABV

When judging Melomel Meads we want the honey to remain noticeable along with the fruit flavors.

Starlight Meadery’s Honeyed Peach is a solid example and we’d score this one a Silver Medal.

Peach – Huffman Vineyards

Our wine tonight is the Peach table wine from Huffman Vineyards in Richlands, North Carolina.

Fermented of peaches.

Color of sweet tea.

Nose of a cooled peach cobbler.

Semi-sweet, guessing about 2-3% residual sugar.

Flavor notes of peach cobbler, caramel, vanilla, and sarsaparilla…giving way to a lingering finish much like a Werther’s Original hard candy.

Labeled as table wine which by law means between 7 and 14% ABV. We’d guess this wine approximately 8% ABV.

Available only at the vineyard.

Certainly not your traditional peach, but good.

Stella Peach – Stella Rosa

Our wine tonight is the Stella Peach from Stella Rosa.

White blend infused of natural peach flavor.

Pale with a very light yellowish tint and a soft white rim. A beautiful wine.

Nose very expressive of peach and cotton candy.

Light and delicate.

Sparkling, more so effervescent.

Semi-Sweet on the palate with flavor notes of fresh baked peach cobbler, wildflower honey, kiwi, green apples, lemon custard, cream soda, almonds, strawberries, apricots, and a light finish reminiscent of cremè brûlée.

5% ABV

Gold medal winner in the Beverage Testing Institute’s World Wine Championship scoring 91 points.

This wine is light and refreshing. The perfect before dinner wine for those family get togethers.

Versailles “Si” … – Divine Llama Vineyards

Our wine tonight is is the Versailles “SI” … from Divine Llama Vineyards in North Carolina’s Yadkin Valley AVA.

Blend of 90% Traminette and 10% Peach Juice.

Light straw in color. Delicate.

Nose is expressively perfumed of sliced peaches with an essence of fresh roses!

Flavor tones on the palate of a fresh peach bellini, notes of lemon juice and pears, finishing softly with hints of apricots and gingerbread cookies.

12% ABV

We would recommend pairing with your favorite Asian Fusion combination.

Peach on the Beach – Island Winery

Our wine tonight is the Peach on the Beach from Island Winery on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Pale yellow in color.

Chardonnay infused with fresh Carolina peach juice.

Nose very expressive of freshly sliced ripe peaches.

Sweet notes of stainless aged Chardonnay on the tongue, lemon, butterscotch, ripe honeydew melon, pineapple, kiwi, and finishing with big notes of fresh sliced ripe peaches.

The finish is reminiscent of many Peach infused Chardonnay wines.

12% ABV

Peach Grape Wine – Menarick

Our wine tonight, in celebration of Chardonnay day, is the Peach Grape Wine from Menarick Vineyard and Winery in North Carolina’s Yadkin Valley AVA.

Pale yellow in color.

Chardonnay infused with real peaches.

Nose very expressive of fresh sliced peaches.

Semi-sweet.

Flavor notes of buttery Chardonnay on the tongue, mid-palate classic butteriness, butterscotch, and fresh baked lemon meringue pie, finishing with big notes of biting into a fresh picked ripe peach.

Our wine tonight is the Chardonnay Peach from Hilton Vineyards in Monroe, North Carolina.

Pale yellow in color.

90% Chardonnay and 10% Peach wine blend.

Expressive nose of fresh sliced peaches, with hints of apple and yeast.

Sweet with flavor notes of fresh peaches, strawberries, green apples, green melons, and honeysuckle.

11% ABV.

Our wine tonight is the Piedmont Peach from Wellborn Winery in Travelers Rest, South Carolina.

Lemon chiffon in color.

Produced from South Carolina grown peaches.

Light peach on the nose, reminiscent of walking through a peach orchard.

Fresh sliced peach flavor notes on the tongue, fading to lingering notes of peaches and cream.

Not complex but beautifully balanced.
