Our wine tonight is the award winning Merlot from Parker-Binns Vineyard in Tryon, North Carolina.

Vintage 2017.

Estate grown Merlot.

Tryon Foothills wine region.

Dark ruby in color with a soft garnet rim.

Decanted for one hour.

Soft bouquet of blackberry jam, red plum, tobacco, vanilla, and cedar.

Long slow cascading legs.

Medium to full bodied and velvety with lush tannins.

Dry yet fruity and complex with notes of red plums, dark cherries, raspberries, dried figs, pomegranate, boiled peanuts, damp forest, Earl Grey tea, and a lingering earthy finish.

13% ABV

King’s Mountain Rosé – Overmountain Vineyards

Our wine tonight is the King’s Mountain Rosé from Overmountain Vineyards in Tryon, North Carolina.

Fermented of 100% Merlot grape.

Vintage 2017.

The 2017 growing season in the Tryon Foothills was challenging with overly excessive rainfall.

Gorgeous color of light rust or red-orange.

Fruity nose, hints of strawberries, raspberries, honeydew melons, and rose petals.

Crisp on the palate, with big citrus notes, hints of pink grapefruit, cranberry, tangerine, and lime, fading to a dry creamy finish.

13% ABV

$23 a bottle.

White Merlot – Victoria Valley Vineyards

Our wine tonight is the newly released White Merlot from Victoria Valley Vineyards in the South Carolina mountains.

Vintage 2019

White Merlot is essentially a rosè, produced by allowing minimal skin contact.

Light strawberry in color.

Nose of pink grapefruit, cranberry, orange, and honey.

Semi-sweet.

Flavor notes of lemon curd, strawberries and cream, raspberries, kiwi, guava, and bananas foster.

12.25% ABV.

$15 a bottle.

Victoria Valley Vineyards is currently the only Winery in South Carolina producing estate grown vinifera wines such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay.

The winery serves lunch on the open air terrace overlooking the mountainside vineyard.

Les Cailloux Bordeaux 2018

Our wine tonight is the Les Cailloux Bordeaux Rouge 2018.

Dark ruby in color with a soft purple rim.

Red wine from Bordeaux, France.

Blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Some decanting recommended.

Nose of cherries, plum, vanilla, and smoke.

Dry with medium plus body and medium plus tannins.

Flavor notes of black currents, red plums, cherry cola, cocoa, vanilla flavoring, with a lingering oak finish.

12% ABV.

$14.99 a bottle.

Rosé – Parker-Binns Vineyard

Our wine tonight is the Rosé from Parker-Binns Vineyard in the Tryon Foothills.

Rosé of estate Merlot.

Light salmon in color.

Cold pressed. Provençal Style.

Nose of fresh sliced strawberries, blood oranges, and spring floral.

Light and crisp.

Dry on the palate, notes of strawberries, cranberries, lemon drops, pink grapefruit, watermelon, apple blossoms, and honeysuckle.

13% ABV.

$20 per bottle.

Rosé – Winery at Catawba Farms

Our wine tonight is the Rosé from the Winery at Catawba Farms in Newton, North Carolina.

Varietals: Cabernet Franc and Merlot blend.

Floral nose of fresh garden roses and violets.

Off-dry.

Flavor notes of fresh cut strawberries and raspberries transitioning to a long lingering tart cranberry finish.

Crush – Dreaming Tree

Our wine tonight is the 2016 Crush from The Dreaming Tree. A semi-sweet red blend of Merlot, Zinfandel, Petit Sirah, and Tannat.

A nose bursting of red fruit, coffee, currant, violet, rose, and vanilla. Beautiful dark ruby color with long legs, bold, rich, and complex with a full compliment of tannins. Flavor notes on the tongue of blackberry jam, black cherry, and cranberry. Mid palate smooths to leather, oak, smoke, and cedar. Lingering to a finish of tobacco, black pepper, and spice.

Kaya Blue – Kaya Vineyards and Winery

Our wine tonight is the Kaya Blue, Merlot blush, from Kaya Vineyards and Winery in the Dahlonega Plateau AVA.

A crisp light semi-sweet blush with a tempting nose of red currant and flavor notes of strawberries and ripe cherries.

Kaya Vineyard and Winery is a rebirth of closed Blackstock Vineyards. One of the largest and oldest vineyards of the Dahlonega Plateau featuring stunning views from of the surrounding North Georgia mountains.
