100% Tempranillo of Rioja Spain.

Dull Ruby in Color.

Dry, Medium Bodied.

Long Distintive Legs.

Nose of Fresh Tobacco, Cherry, Vanilla, Almond, and Oak.

Bold Flavor Tones of Red Licorice, Cherry, and Raspberry, Finishing with Blackberry , Plum, Oak and Walnuts.

13% ABV.

$15 a Bottle.

Decanted for 60 Minutes.

WineryEscapades.Com scoring on the American Wine Society twenty point scale.

Appearance: 2 Nose: 3.5 Taste: 4 Finish: 2 Impression 2

Total Score: 13.5 Silver Medal Worthy.

I think this wine too young and should age another three plus years.

100% Estate Grown Corot Noir.

North Carolina’s Swan Creek AVA.

Developed at Cornell in 1970, Corot Noir is a hybrid of Seyve Villard and Steuben.

Gorgeous dark ruby in color.

Decant for one hour to open.

Very fruit forward nose of Bing Cherries, Red Plums, and Blackberries.

Medium bodied, soft tannins, dry.

Flavor notes of ripe cherries, blueberries, red currants, and plum, softly fading to earthy and mineral tones.

12% ABV.

$24 a bottle.

Fig Ewe- Enoree River Winery

Our wine tonight is the Fig Ewe Wine from Enoree River Winery In Newberry, South Carolina.

Fermented of 100% Estate grown Fig.

Desert wine.

Light amber in color.

Nose of Fig preserves…..undeniable Fig!

Hints of cherry on the tongue, lingering notes of whiskey, caramel…specifically Werthers Original candies, vanilla, freshly sliced figs, butterscotch, and toffee.

12% ABV

Cost was under $20 per bottle.

Production was very limited in quantity and the winery is currently sold out.

This was an extremely unique and very flavorful wine.

In our opinion, this is a gold medal worthy wine.

Peach for the Stars – Catawba Farms

Our wine tonight is the Peach for the Stars – peach wine, from The Winery at Catawba Farms in Newton, North Carolina.

A real fruit wine.

Beautiful color of bright polished gold.

Moderately sweet, crisp.

Nose of peach cobbler with hints of honey.

Flavor notes of nectarine, watermelon jolly rancher, and a finish reminiscent of peaches and cream.

Light bodied, well balanced, easy drinking.

Our wine tonight, Wednesday June 6, 2018, is the Double Gold winning Raspberry White Zin from CityScape Winery.

The Raspberry White Zin also won Best in Show at the 2018 Palmetto Wine Competition.
