Our wine tonight is the Blueberry from Old Homeplace Vineyard in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Blueberry fruit wine.

Light purple in color with a reddish rim.

Nose and flavor are distinctively blueberry.

Nose is delicate, earthy with hints of blueberry jam.

Semi-Sweet. Medium bodied.

Fruity and bright expressing a slight tartness, with notes of vanilla custard, soft spices, and freshly baked warm blueberry pie.

11.2% ABV.

This fruit wine is a solid example of a perfectly balanced fruit wine.

We’d easily scored this one in the Silver Medal range.

Blue Grass – B & C Winery

Our wine tonight is the Blue Grass (Blueberry Shiraz) from B and C Winery in Maggie Valley, North Carolina.

Blueberry infused Shiraz.

Light purple in color.

Nose of blueberry, vanilla, and spice.

Light -medium bodied with mild tannins.

Semi-sweet.

On the palate bursting flavors of fresh blueberry pie, cherry cola, and mild spices.

8% ABV.

Scoring on the twenty point scale. Appearance 2. Nose 4. Flavor 4 Finish 3. Impression 2.

Bunker Hill Covered Bridge – The Winery at Catawba Farms

Our wine tonight is the Bunker Hill Covered Bridge blend from The Winery at Catawba Farms.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Blueberry.

Dark ruby in color.

Off-dry on the palate.

Nose of blueberry pie, peanut butter cups, black plums, licorice, and vanilla.

Flavor notes of dark cherry, plum, tobacco, leather, graphite, cola, light vanilla, and subtle spices with a lingering finish.

Winery Escapade scoring on the American Wine Society twenty point scale.

Appearance: 3 Aroma: 4.5 Taste: 4.5 Aftertaste: 3 Impression: 1.5

Total: 16.5 – Silver Medal worthy!
