Our wine tonight is the Naughty and Nice from Duplin Winery.

Holiday white wine blend of Scuppernong, Muscadine, and what I think to be Niagara.

The scuppernong is distinct.

Nose of ripe bananas, lemonade, green apples, honeydew melons, and a stuffy mildewed room.

Sweet, syrupy.

On the palate notes of overripe bananas, honeysuckle, rubber cement, lemonade, almonds, and pixy stix, with lingering back of the mouth sticky notes of honey and lemon cough syrup.

10.5% ABV

This wine is certainly complex.

Duplin Winery In North Carolina is the largest muscadine wine producer in the world.

Our wine tonight is the Les Cailloux Bordeaux Rouge 2018.

Dark ruby in color with a soft purple rim.

Red wine from Bordeaux, France.

Blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Some decanting recommended.

Nose of cherries, plum, vanilla, and smoke.

Dry with medium plus body and medium plus tannins.

Flavor notes of black currents, red plums, cherry cola, cocoa, vanilla flavoring, with a lingering oak finish.

12% ABV.

Blackberry – Parker-Binns Vineyard

Our wine tonight is the Blackberry Desert Wine from Parker-Binns Vineyard in the Tryon Foothills of North Carolina.

Produced 100% of locally sourced blackberries.

Fermented and aged in a style reminiscent to a port.

Beautiful purple color.

The nose is expressive and reminds one of fresh blackberry cobbler!

Tart and bold, like a perfectly ripe fresh picked wild blackberry.

100% Tempranillo of Rioja Spain.

Dull Ruby in Color.

Nose of Fresh Tobacco, Cherry, Vanilla, Almond, and Oak.

Bold Flavor Tones of Red Licorice, Cherry, and Raspberry, Finishing with Blackberry , Plum, Oak and Walnuts.

I think this wine too young and should age another three plus years.

Christmas White – Biltmore Estate

Our wine tonight is the Christmas at Biltmore White Wine from Biltmore Estate Winery.

Blend of Muscat Canelli, Gewürztraminer, Riesling, and Viognier.

Grape sourced from California.

Vintage: 2018

Soft pale yellow in color.

Semi-sweet.

Nose of freshly sliced pears, peaches and cream, red grapefruit, ginger, honeysuckle, and rose petals.

Gewürztraminer is prominent and easily detectable in the nose.

Flavor notes of fresh baked hot apple pie, ginger snaps, cantaloupe, tangerine, pineapple, lychee, lemon drops, and big hints of dried apricots finishing with lingering notes of soft herbs and spice.

Our wine tonight is the Turckheim Gewurztraminer (Alsace) from Domaine Zind Humbrecht.

Vintage 2015.

Appellation: Alsace, France.

Color of sunshine.

Nose of green melon, munster cheese, pears, apricots, rose petals, and honeysuckle.

Flavor notes of limoncello, lemon custard, crème brûlée, and honeysuckle with a silky smooth finish lingering long with crisp notes of lemon zest and wildflower honey.

Very complex, dry with big tannins.

14% ABV.

Nose of fresh rose blooms, anise, red plums, red currants, and black licorice.

Dry. Chewy.

Flavor notes of red cherries, raspberries, black licorice, peanut butter cups, and cranberries finishing with lingering profiles of leather, and tobacco.

Flavor notes of strawberries, cherries, fresh watermelon slices, pink grapefruit and a nice lingering finish of mint, black pepper, and hints of minerality.

Dark motor oil like color with a vibrant purple rim.

Nose of cherries, bourbon, vanilla, candy apple, and caramel.

Dry with soft to medium tannins.

Flavor notes of Scotch Bonnet Peppers, dark berries, chocolate covered cherries, oak, caramel, and red hots, finishing long with hints of dark fruit and earthiness.

15% ABV. (not a typo) Its big!
